Special Education
From preschool through high school, PVSchools Special Education services are available in primary content areas like reading, written language, and mathematics.
Based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), students may be eligible to receive related services such as speech-language, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. All students identified for special education services are expected to meet the same standards as their peers with allowable accommodations, modifications, and supports.
C.A.B.S.
Cactus View is proud to house our C.A.B.S. (Choices Affect Behavioral Success) special education program. Our C.A.B.S. program follows the Boys Town Education Model© and sets students up for success so they do their best learning. For more information, please reach out to our school psychologist, Sarah Wilke.
P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support)
The Cactus View staff participates in a school wide positive behavior support program. The staff has collectively identified the expected behaviors and, teaches, models and practices what those behaviors look like, sound like, and feel like. Teachers specifically praise appropriate behavior with private or public acknowledgement. Praise in the form of tokens, Cactus View cash, and pizza with the Principal are just a few examples of positive recognition.
Special Olympics
Once students turn 8 years old, PVSchools provides opportunities to participate in the Specials Olympics, which help student-athletes make new friends, learn new skills, and discover their independence.
SUN Kids Preschool
SUN (Serving Unique Needs) Kids is a dedicated, inclusive Preschool program that focuses on child-directed, rather than teacher-directed, activities that help students grow and develop alongside their peers.
PVSchools Vision Department
A student's IEP team is equipped to develop vision-based goals and accommodations or modifications, if needed, to ensure the student is able to access their curriculum at all points of the school day.
